The Harsh Truth: Wealthy People Know This (And You Don’t)

The system is rigged

On a chilly morning in 1992, José Hernández stepped onto American soil for the first time.

A farmworker’s son from Mexico, José spent his childhood following the crop seasons, moving from town to town, never knowing stability. Yet, he held a dream that many dismissed as impossible—he wanted to be an astronaut.

The odds were stacked against him. He didn't speak English until he was 12. His education was disrupted yearly as his family moved with the crop seasons.

But José refused to let circumstances dictate his destiny. He studied relentlessly, worked tirelessly, and after being rejected by NASA eleven times, he finally broke through on his twelfth attempt.

For years, he endured grueling training, pushing himself beyond exhaustion while working full-time as an engineer. He would listen to English tapes to perfect his language skills and even learned to scuba dive to prepare for astronaut training.

In 2009, after decades of persistence, he flew aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, proving that economic background does not define potential—relentless effort does.

But what if José had never been given a shot? What if, despite his efforts, systemic barriers had kept him locked in a cycle of poverty? That is the reality for millions today. And it is why taking control of your financial future is not just an option—it is a moral duty.
